Here’s how Rekha tackled her postpartum weight

“I am so overwhelmed to post the transformation pictures of my client REKHA SANDEEP. When I first spoke to her she was very concerned. As she is a lactating mother, she didn’t want a diet which may hamper the milk supply and adversely affect her health. Being a lactating mother myself, I knew what were her concerns and accordingly devised a plan for her. Breastfeeding in itself makes one burn upto 300 calories so it’s the best time to shed away all the post pregnancy weight. But it’s never about starving oneself. A well structured nutrition plan is important keeping in mind the health of the baby as well as the new Mom. I am super proud that Rekha trusted the process and gave her 100 % and the results are evident.”

Here is what she has to say about her post-partum journey

” For me initially fitness was just losing post pregnancy weight like any other woman, but later I realised that it is not only losing weight but also being fit by body, mind and soul.

My current lifestyle is a bit hectic as I also have to take care of my 5.5 month old daughter. Being a first time mom I didn’t know how to balance playing s mom’s role and also take care of my fitness – I had no confidence to take up such training programs.

Later, through a close friend of mine, I came to know about Mrs. Ritu Kr Singh. Ritu is a super friendly certified nutritionist cum fitness coach. Here I would want to say that the best thing I’ve done was taking up a 4 weeks training with her.she continuously tracked and monitored my diet and workout everyday and also motivated me in my journey ..

My trainer took a detailed BMR and gave me the right diet plan and workout routine keeping in mind that I’m also a nursing mother.

WHERE THERE IS A WILL THERE IS A WAY, I decided to be very disciplined and follow the plan and workouts given to me. In the very first week, I saw changes in my body and my weight dropped by 1.1kgs.. This made me more confident to get stronger and fitter .. I continued to follow the plan and workout routine in the following weeks and noticed my weight drop by 1.7kgs, 600gms and 1.3 kgs in weeks 2, 3 and 4 respectively.

Exercise has been a part of me from when I started the program and now I realise it’s not a chore and it’s a part of my daily routine and YES got back into shape within a period of 4 weeks and I’m still following this to get STRONGER AND FITTER .”

Ritu Kumar Singh is a fitness coach at myhealthbuddy. She is a law graduate and an ex-Army Officer with keen interest in learning new exercise forms. She is an ardent dancer and a marathon runner. She decided to transform people’s life after going through her own post-partum weightloss journey.
